Digital champions are volunteer super-heroes, determined to share their knowledge of digital technology with people in their local community to encourage more people to be digitally active. They are improving lives across the county through empowering people to learn basic digital skills and access the online world, benefiting from digital technology. Through their patience, time and expertise, they will utilise basic digital skills to promote independent living, reduce social isolation, increase vital skills and improve access to education and employment.
Registering on this course, enables Volunteer Digital Champions to access the training materials and resources needed to support them in their role. Once registered, Digital Champions will be sent a link to complete an initial digital skills assessment. After this a Digital Tutor from ACL will contact you to arrange an independent learning plan suited to your needs.

What can I expect to learn?
By the end of this course you will have the skills and abilities needed to fulfil the role of digital champion.
How will I learn?
You will be working independently at a time and place that suits your needs. You will be accessing a range of learning materials and resources from our online learning site. The session will be interactive and available to engage with multiple times to equip participants with a basic awareness of this subject. We may suggest that an in-person course is suitable for you to increase your basic digital skills.
How will I know how well I am doing?
This course is continually assessed through engagement with activities in the interactive learning package.
Will I have to do any work at home?
You will need to allocate time to complete three mandatory modules.
What will I need to provide?
You will need to have access to a computer, laptop or other device that can utilise video and sound files to be able to access the course and internet connection with Google Chrome browser.
